- ThreadMark(tm)
- Multi-Threaded Benchmark
- Version 2.0
- for Windows workstations and desktops
- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-
- Please read the following information before installing ThreadMark:
-
- 1. To install ThreadMark, select Run from the Windows 95/NT Start menu,
- and run "A:\Setup.exe".
-
- 2. As ThreadMark installs, you are given two choices: (a) where to
- install ThreadMark; (b) where to put ThreadMark execution shortcuts in
- the Windows 95/NT Program folder. For the installation location, if you
- override the default and specify your own directory, the ThreadMark
- files will be installed in that directory. The directory will be created
- for you if it does not exist. If there are already files in that
- directory, the Threadmark files will be placed right alongside them. To
- avoid confusion, it is recommended that you install Threadmark into an
- empty directory.
-
- 3. To uninstall ThreadMark, you have two options: (a) run the
- "unInstall ThreadMark" execution shortcut that was installed in the
- ThreadMark Program folder (default folder name: "Adaptec ThreadMark
- Benchmark"); (b) use the Windows 95/NT Add/Delete Programs control
- panel. Do not execute the "Uninst" executable on the ThreadMark
- distribution disk.
-
- 4. If you want to re-run the CPU baseline, delete the file TMARK.INI
- found in the Windows directory on your computer. The next time you run
- ThreadMark you will be asked if you agree to the license agreement and
- when you start the tests the CPU baseline will be run.
-
- 5. The test drive must have free space equal to eight times the system memory.
- For example, if you have 64 MB of memory, the hard drive to be tested
- must have at least 512 MB free.
-
- 6. ThreadMark now allows you to edit the Additional Information text
- to add system specific information such as: host adapters tested,
- motherboard make and model, system clock speed, etc. This information must
- be entered when the results of a run are first displayed. This information
- will be saved along with the performance results.
-
- Note that to create a new line when editing the Additional Information
- you must use the key combination Ctrl-Enter. The Enter key by itself
- selects the Exit button which, when one of the save options is checked,
- brings up a Save As dialog asking for a filename. If this happens and
- you are not done entering information, select Cancel and you will be
- brought back to the ThreadMark Results screen where you can click the
- mouse inside the Additional Information window and continue entering
- text.
-
- 7. Remember that the license agreement requires that any published
- results include the ThreadMark version number.
-
- 8. Adaptec does not provide technical support for ThreadMark.
-
- 9. Look to the ThreadMark(tm) Web page (http://www.adaptec.com/threadmark/)
- for more information and test results on various drivers.
-
- 10. Enjoy!
